IEEE Wireless Communications and Networking Conference
10–13 April 2022 // Austin, TX, USA
Boosting Verticals into Wireless Orbit

Call for Industry Panel Proposals

IEEE WCNC 2022, to be held in Austin from April 10th through 13th, will be planned as an in-person conference, but will also consider hybrid format features.

The theme of the conference is “Boosting Verticals into the Wireless Orbit”

2022 represents over 2 years of commercialization of 5G introducing a rich set of technical capabilities and empowering many vertical markets, and different networking capabilities for efficiency, QoS and bandwidth utilization. With R15 already behind us, R16 has progressed in 2020 and paved the way for R17 by 2022 to enable mission critical, ultra-reliable applications. In consequence, pushing processing to the edge and supporting operators in introducing new classes of QoS based on end-to-end network slicing and security requirements.

The 5G Roadmap is supporting bandwidths 28GHz - 100GHz with millimeter waves, and beyond to Terahertz. AI/ML will be instrumental in many areas of the network layers and system operation

WCNC is the world’s premier wireless event, highlighting:

  • Recent advances in wireless technologies, networks, and use-cases
  • High performance / Quantum computing and applications
  • Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence applications
  • Edge-based computing models and use-cases
  • Advancements and use-cases Network softwarization and virtualization
  • Issues related to standards and regulatory challenges
  • Security, resilience and privacy challenges and advancements
  • Environmental impacts of new technologies

The conference offers a rich and compelling content: keynote speakers, comprehensive technical and industrial programs with technical papers, panel sessions and presentations, industry forums, workshops, tutorials, showcases of latest technology, technical tours, and a conference banquet. The conference is excited about its added industry and professional-focused features such as an executive forum, dialog with industry, job fair/speed networking, industry challenge, and special events for Industry Young Professionals and Women in Wireless Engineering.
